gat config

Read or change general settings. Reads show the effective value and its source; writes affect one scope, with project as the default.

Task	How
Set a	Pass one value.
Replace a list	Pass one argument per element; commas are not separators.
Save an empty list	Use `--clear` where allowed.
Restore inheritance	Use `--unset`.

Manage named resources with gat remote, gat mount, gat route, and gat selection. See Config inheritance for scope rules and Configuration for keys and defaults.

Output includes headings and source information. It is intended for people, not as a serialized configuration format.

Usage: gat config [OPTIONS] <KEY> [VALUES]...

Arguments:
  <KEY>
          The `gat.yaml` key to get or set, e.g.
          `cache.materialization_strategy`

  [VALUES]...
          New value(s) to set: one for a scalar key, or one positional argument
          per element for a list-valued key. Omit (and omit `--clear`/`--unset`)
          to print the current (or default) value

Options:
      --clear
          Persist an explicit empty list in the selected scope (list-valued keys
          only). Mutually exclusive with `--unset` and with passing values

      --unset
          Remove the key from the selected scope and inherit from lower layers
          or use its built-in default. Mutually exclusive with `--clear` and
          with passing values

      --global
          Write to the global config (`~/.gat/gat.yaml`), applying to every
          repository for this user

      --project
          Write to the project config (`<repo_root>/gat.yaml`), committed to git
          and shared with everyone who clones the repo. The default

      --local
          Write to the local config (`<repo_root>/.gat/gat.yaml`), repo-local
          and never committed (`.gat/` isn't tracked)

  -h, --help
          Print help (see a summary with '-h')
